Don't underestimate the Obama administration's capacity to undo the great progress in Iraq, turn Afghanistan into chaos, and we still don't know what's to become of Iran and North Korea. As much as I hate to say it, those issues you mentioned may actually be back-burner issues if we're on the precipice of a nuclear WWIII. In that case, do you want a grounded, proven military commander or a indecisive, narcissistic and corrupt community organizer from Chicago? Gen Petraeus was one part of a huge group of brilliant and bold people who saved Iraq, though the buck stops at the oval office for good or bad at that. He's a tough commander who accomplished his goals. I'm grateful for that. How does he feel about immigration reform? Health insurance? the food and drug administration? School vouchers? I personally do not think it is wise to select this man as nominee, on the sole basis of him being a bright star in a tough field. I guess we'll learn more in debates if this man is interested.
